Translation for Life (EED3401)

Course Description:


Learning Outcomes
Content to Be Learned
Learning Activities
§  The students can understand translating techniques and methods.
§  The students can translate sentences, paragraphs and other discourses excerpted from sources. Besides, the students are able to translate the excerpted from Thai into English and vice versa correctly according to language rules and cultural awareness.
§  The students realize the differences between the structures of Thai and English.

§  Techniques and methods for translating English into Thai and vice versa
§  Translating and interpret sentences, paragraphs and discourses
§  The students compile and apply translating techniques and methods to analyze the structures of words, phrases, sentences, idioms and the different cultural communication of English and Thai.
§  The students translate English sentences and paragraphs into Thai and vice versa. Besides, they are assigned to analyze problems in translating and do written presentations.
§  The students read and translate reading materials of their own selection and present their translations.
